XIP is a rebate program run by Fort Collins Utilities that pays homeowners $0.75 per square foot to replace irrigated turf with water-wise landscaping. Use native Colorado plants at 80%+ coverage and you earn an extra $0.25 per square foot — $1.00 total.
Yes. You must schedule and complete a virtual customer meeting with Fort Collins Utilities before submitting your XIP application. The meeting covers your design package, program requirements, and answers questions about your project. Schedule at fcgov.com/xip.

1,000 sq ft per year. If you have a larger lawn, you can phase the project across multiple years and apply for each section separately.
At least 80% of the plants installed must be native to Colorado, and the planting must achieve 50% plant coverage at maturity. Native Colorado species on the XIP plant list qualify. Non-native low-water plants still qualify for the $0.75 base rate.

Yes. The 1,000 sq ft cap is per year. You can convert additional sections in future annual cycles, each with a separate application.
